Collection: Dog Car Seat Covers

A dog car seat cover has one job on paper: keep fur, mud and drool off your upholstery. It has a second job nobody advertises, which is giving your dog somewhere stable to lie down.

Muttrek builds for the second one. RoadGuard is a hard bottom back seat extender: a reinforced PP platform bridges the rear footwell so the surface stays level from the seat edge to the front seatbacks. Rated to 440 lb, waterproof throughout, and up to 40% more usable back seat space than a standard cover.

What is in this collection

RoadGuard Dog Seat Extender. Waterproof 600D Oxford over a five-part construction: quilted top, cotton padding, three rigid PP support panels that insert into the base and zip closed, a second cotton layer and a non-slip base. Every unit includes an adjustable dog seatbelt. Zippered mesh viewing window, two side storage pockets, and protective door side panels. One side folds down so a passenger can still use the back seat.

RoadGuard Comfort Pad. The soft layer that goes on top. Deep plush over high-resiliency fill with a silicone-dot non-slip base, sized to the seat section of the platform. Machine washable whole. It exists because every hard bottom cover has the same complaint: it is hard.

Before you buy

Measure your rear bench first. Most covers, ours included, are built for a bench between 48 and 54 inches, and model names tell you less than a tape measure does. Our 60-second measuring guide walks through it.

If you are still deciding between styles, hard bottom versus hammock covers the real trade-offs, including the two things a hard bottom costs you.
