Soft Enough That They Actually Lie Down
A hard-bottom platform is what keeps your dog steady — but bare, it is still a hard floor, and plenty of dogs stand the whole way rather than settle on it. The Comfort Pad is the layer that changes that: deep plush their claws can grip, high-resiliency fill under the joints, and a non-slip base so the whole thing stays exactly where you put it.
The Layer That Makes Them Lie Down
Better Than a Folded Blanket
The Comfort Pad does what a folded blanket is trying to do, without bunching, sliding or needing to be re-folded every trip.

Questions About Comfort Pad
Will it fit my RoadGuard™?
Will it fit my RoadGuard™?
Yes. The pad is 51 × 23.6 in, the full width of the RoadGuard™ platform, sized to cover the seat section your dog lies on. The platform is 27.16 in deep in total, so about 3.5 in of the front extension stays exposed. That strip is waterproof platform, which is the part you want wipeable anyway.
Will it fit a different brand of seat extender?
Will it fit a different brand of seat extender?
Most likely. It lies on top rather than strapping in, so it works on any flat hard-bottom platform. Measure your platform's width first; anything narrower than 51 in and the pad will sit slightly proud at the edges.
Does it slide around?
Does it slide around?
No. The base is quilted fabric with silicone non-slip dots that grip the smooth surface of a seat cover. That is the difference between this and a folded blanket, which bunches against the door and ends up in the footwell by the second turn.
Is it waterproof?
Is it waterproof?
No, deliberately. The Comfort Pad is the soft layer; your RoadGuard™ underneath is the waterproof one. Spills sit on the platform and the pad goes in the machine.
How do I wash it?
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, do not bleach. It washes whole; there is no cover to unzip. No shrinking, no fading, and the pile does not shed into your upholstery.
My dog won't settle on the hard platform. Will this fix it?
My dog won't settle on the hard platform. Will this fix it?
Usually within a trip or two. The surface finally gives under them and their claws have something to grip instead of skidding. Laying a familiar-smelling blanket on top for the first drive speeds that up considerably.
